The Basics Of Strip Lights

Neon Tape falls under a specialised category of LED Strip Lights. They are all long lines of tape with small LEDs integrated onto the base and are known for being flexible. Traditionally, this style of lighting is used for accenting, backing and decorative purposes.

There are many advantages of Strip Tape including its ultra-flexibility, its capability to emit numerous colours without needing a filter and that it can be tailored to any setting with the appropriate IP rating.

All tape has a particular voltage and current requirement that are different from a standard 240v mains input. A driver, which may be referred to as a transformer or power supply, will convert the 240v and step it down to either 12v or 24v. Please remember that there should be at least a 10% gap between the wattage of the driver and the strip lights to avoid damage or strain.

Here at LED Strip Lights, we offer a bespoke cutting service which is fulfilled by our in-house team. When you order your tape, and need it cut to a certain length, we can do all the hard work for you. With your measurements, our team will cut, solder and glue your tape to ensure a neat and watertight finish.

Each cut will be charged £5.99, including an endcap, and the strip can only be cut every 10cm. Remember to add the number of metres you would like as the quantity as all strip tape is priced per metre.

As standard 10cm tails will be added to your tape, and any longer length will be supplied separately. We can advise you of which connectors will complete your installation if you contact a member of our team.
